Alix Gibson
Alix received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Vermont and has her LICSW. She has been working with children, youth, and families for over 25 years and is dedicated to supporting child and family safety, permanence, and well-being. Using approaches that are strengths-based, solution-oriented, and trauma-informed, Alix’s work is grounded in the philosophy that everyone is capable of growth and change and feels privileged to be in such a rewarding role.
It is Alix’s extensive history working with families and supervising other professionals that she knows the importance of high-quality professional services and ethical sensitivity. Alix has supported those facing infertility in both her professional and personal life and has seen the impact infertility has had on friends and family. As a mental health provider, she is especially understanding of the unique psychological considerations associated with the field.
Alix has extensive training and experience conducting interviews aimed at assessment and finds that she excels in this area. She was drawn to working for Thallo Health as she feels we provide hope to families which is very inspiring to her and aligns with her mission to feel that her work and time spent with others has meaning. Alix is a passionate life-long learner and feels personally called to support the integrity and accessibility of these services which also provides a positive and rewarding balance in her professional life.
Alix has continued her professional growth in the field of infertility through research and involvement as a professional member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, ASRM Mental Health Professional Group, and the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy.
Alix is also trained in bariatric assessments and offers comprehensive evaluations that address the psychological, emotional, and social factors affecting a patient’s weight loss journey. Her compassionate approach fosters a supportive environment to help clients navigate the challenges of bariatric surgery.
