Marisela Castillo
Marisela has worked in the human service field for the past 15 years, working with children, adults, and their families via counseling, crisis response, and familial interventions. She graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology and a Master's in Counseling. She uses a combination of mind, body, and spirit therapies to help others understand more about their emotional state and gain insight into what is happening for them internally. She believes this is an effective way to clear any barriers and clarify a person's purpose, along with learning to navigate the “here and now”.
Marisela has specialized in trauma-focused therapy and was drawn to the field of fertility due to her own professional and personal experiences with those facing fertility challenges. She is passionate about helping others grow their families. Marisela's focus as a counselor is to offer a safe inclusive space for others to navigate life stressors and events. She offers trauma-informed client-centered care and interactions where clients can feel supported and heard.
Marisela is proficient in program development, innovation, and holistic collaborative care approaches. She understands and practices the wrap-around care model to ensure she is treating the individual as a whole person instead of a one-dimensional diagnosis or label. Marisela’s open mind, diverse background of training and experience, and value for the collaborative team approach have made her a distinctive member of the Thallo Health team.
She has continued her professional growth in the field of infertility through research and involvement as a professional member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, ASRM Mental Health Professional Group, and the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy.
